If your main interest in theater is not performing on stage but working behind the scenes, Theater Design and Technology is the right concentration for you. Students will be prepared to enter a competitive professional field for which they have trained as well-rounded artists and technicians. They will learn practical industry skills as well as conceptual techniques and begin to develop a unique artistic view. Along with their diplomas, students will graduate with the confidence, skills, and portfolios they need to pursue professional careers or seek appointments with graduate level programs.

- Students will explore multiple disciplines, including scenic, costume, and lighting design and stage management.
- Students will take on roles as technicians and assistants in production in addition to their course work, and step into leadership roles as designers or stage managers as they progress within the program.
- Through real-time production experiences, they will learn to think on their feet and adapt to a rapid-paced, high-energy career in the performing arts.
- Facilities include the Walter K. Gordon Theater, a state-of-the-art 650 seat proscenium house renowned for its near-perfect acoustical properties, and the Black Box Studio, a flexible, intimate performance space.
