The Walter K. Gordon Theater is the hub of the performing arts at Rutgers–Camden. The 650-seat proscenium theater space wows audiences with near-perfect acoustic properties, state-of-the-art sound/lighting/video/multimedia capabilities, and an unobstructed view from every seat. This transformative performance space can take the form of a large concert hall, a small community-style theater with a semi-thrust stage and many things in-between.
The Gordon Theater serves primarily as the home for the Rutgers-Camden Theater Program, Choir, Madrigals Ensemble, and select concert performers. It is also the home of the world-renown Symphony in C Orchestra, and plays host to many other community groups. Throughout the year, primary and secondary school students from the City of Camden and surrounding region sing, dance, act and celebrate graduation days on the Gordon Theater stage.
The Gordon Theater is also available for rental for many different kinds of events. For more information on renting the space, please visit the Campus Events Page.
