Biography

Joe Hart is the Founder and Trumpeter in the Philadelphia Chamber Brass, a group of five young and energetic brass musicians that promote standard brass quintet literature and commission new works from up-and-coming composers.  As a guitarist, Joe has played with a number of bands throughout the tri-state area and his specialties are blues and rock guitar. He maintains a small studio out of his home in West Philadelphia and is on the faculty at Rutgers Camden.

Joe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts in New Brunswick, NJ as well as a Master of Music Degree in Music Performance from The Hartt School at The University of Hartford in West Hartford, CT.  Joe has spent time as a Public School Music Teacher in New Jersey, as a Teaching Artist and Music Arranger for the Philadelphia-based, El Sistema inspired Music Education program Play On, Philly!, and is currently the Vice President of Artistic Operations and Education at the South Jersey based training orchestra Symphony in C where he gets to work with some of the top young talent from The Curtis Institute of Music and The Juilliard School.  As an arranger, Joe has had his works played and conducted by Symphony in C, Play On Philly!, The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra (NYC), The Philadelphia Orchestra (China tour), and Sir Simon Rattle.
