Dionne Fields, Applied Music Instructor (Voice), is an alumna of Rutgers University-Camden, College of Arts and Sciences, having received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. Dionne also studied at Boston University, where she received her MM in Music Education. Along with spending many years in the performance realm of sacred music, oratorio and baroque music, Ms. Fields’ broadened vocal performance scope also includes the musical theater stage. Ms. Fields recent performance credits include a lead role in the original musical “Hand Me Down the Silver Trumpet” (2014) (a role written expressly for her by Dr. Kenneth Elliott), and voicing “Audrey II – The Plant” in the Rutgers-Camden Theater Department’s 2016 production of the hit musical “Little Shop of Horrors”.
As a vocalist, Dionne Fields has delighted audiences including the Governor of the State of New Jersey, distinguished members of the State’s High Court and thousands of others with her stunningly rich renditions of The National Anthem and America, The Beautiful. With over forty years of experience as a gospel music singer/soloist and over thirty years as a choir director and gospel music workshop facilitator, Dionne is currently Minister of Music at H.O.P.E. Ministries (West Deptford, NJ). Dionne also enjoys playing viola and songwriting in her spare time.
