Ph.D. University of California, Irvine
Biography
Daniel Moorhead holds a Ph.D. in Drama & Theater with a specialization in Critical Theory from the University of California, Irvine, where he lectured in drama-theater history and criticism during his graduate work. He specializes in performance theory/philosophy, modern and contemporary drama, and contemporary art/performance practice.
His pedagogical approach is actively interdisciplinary, as is his research, which undertakes specific avenues of theoretical inquiry not only to explore their potential relevance and utility to theater and performance practice, but also to explore new ways in which theater and performance can usefully relate to theoretical inquiry. Dr. Moorhead’s current research explores the ontological relationships between performance, aesthetic creation, and empathy.
