Biography
Jacob Foster is the current Director of the Student Works Gallery at Rutgers University-Camden. Working with faculty and student interns, he curates exhibits that collaborate with organizations, departments, and courses on campus. Jacob Foster earned a BA in Art from Rutgers University-Camden in Spring 2017, where he was awarded two undergraduate research grants, the Stedman Gallery Purchase Award, and the John J Gianotti Fine Arts award. His current body of work uses his old family photographs a source material which provoke questions about childhood, family dynamics, and American culture. His work has been curated by the Head of Contemporary Art at the National Gallery of Art and by the Director of Exhibitions at Tyler School of Art. Furthermore, the Noyes Museum of Art at Stockton University will host an upcoming solo exhibition of his work in September 2018. Jacob has recently accepted a Teaching Assistantship at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for their MFA in Studio Art starting Fall 2018.
