Biography
David Thomlison is a VFX Industry veteran of 16 years and has worked on AAA Films, episodics, and commercials, including but not limited to several Star Wars films, The Mandalorian, Fantastic Beasts, Arrival, and countless others.  He works primarily as a Rigging Technical Director, which straddles the line between artistic and technical sides of 3D art and requires a knowledge of coding, anatomy, and animation.  David brings with him a wealth of knowledge of the Visual Effects development process and an understanding of how to navigate the fast-paced nature of studio culture and life.  He graduated from Rutgers University Camden in 2007 and went on to study Character Animation at the prestigious Sheridan College in Ontario, Canada, but recognizes that learning and growing is a lifelong endeavour.
David currently teaches Character Rigging and Character Animation at Rutgers and encourages students to push past their limits through positive critiquing to give them the best path to the VFX industry.
