Electric Café – l’Artiste ordinaire


The Electric Café is back and better than ever with 3 all new performances this semester. These live performances bring together a unique blend of electronic music, interactivity, and performance art to give audiences a show they won’t soon forget!

All performances are free and open to the public.


Performances are held on Mondays at 12:30pm in the Black Box Studio.


l’Artiste ordinaire – April 17th
“Photon Ecstasy (HD 7924)”
Photon Ecstasy is an ongoing performance project by the duo l’Artiste ordinaire (l’Ao)— composer-performers Melissa Grey & David Morneau—that embraces music, sound, interactive light, and science fiction. It is an expansion of the mythology created by Dan Rose in his artist book, The DNA-Photon Project, which tells the story of a top-secret government project that converted the DNA of a young woman into photons.
Media – Instrumentation: Nintendo Game Boy, Merlin Music Machine, benjolin modular synth, trombone, field recordings, beats, interactive costume lights, interactive trombone mute.
