Josh Brilliant is an artist from Philadelphia, PA. He received his BA in Film and Media Arts from Temple University, his MA in Museum Studies from Syracuse University, and his MFA in Studio Art from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. He has exhibited nationally and internationally, most recently at the Rodchenko School of Photography Annex in Moscow, Russia and Vox Populi in Philadelphia, PA. Josh is also the Education Director at the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center.

Exploring concepts of epistemology, spirituality, and memory, his work is an investigation into the limits of knowledge and communication, the inefficiency of memory, and the critical investigation of the photographic image. As a conceptual thread that weaves throughout various bodies of work, he is interested in how knowledge is obtained and shared, and through that distorted and misconstrued. While employing various methods of appropriation and picture making Josh is taking shared information and content, translating it through process or collage, and re-presenting it as a new form.
